I love Steak N Shake, but this place drove me a bit crazy. We got there at the end of the weekend lunch rush. The tables were full except for one small table sitting in the dead center of the room. It was an awkward spot. So we asked to wait for a booth. We were added to a waiting list and we sat to wait. We watched as table after table left, but their tables weren't being cleaned. Finally, when one was cleaned a group that just walked in was seated and we were forgotten about. My girlfriend finally had to bring it to their attention that we were skipped and still waiting. When we were seated, as soon as I sat, I smelled some serious body odor coming from the kid sitting behind me. Gross. I hoped they would leave soon. I didn't want to have to wait for another table. The food is just about always consistent at Steak N Shake, so no complaints there.

The staff is always very helpful. Food is good considering the price. We will come back...

They are always super quick when I come through this drive through and they are always friendly. I have also gone in on occasion and the servers were awesome. I went in last week and it was clean and the service was fast....and they got everything right on our picky order.

I usually do not frequent this location too often, but I was passing by and craving a milkshake. I saw that the drive thru line had two cars in it and considering my order was relatively easy and quick, going inside would've been easier. Well, I thought wrong. Although there was 3 people behind the counter working, it took approximately 5 minutes for one of them to approach me and another 4 minutes to get my order. Seemed a little ridiculous to me considering two of the three weren't even busy. To further frustrate things, the milkshake was a solid block, which made drinking from a straw impossible. Definitely will go somewhere else for a milkshake and better service next time!

This is a Steak 'n Shake like all the others. The staff was super friendly. But I only gave 3 stars because upon entering, waited a good 1-2 minutes before anyone came to attend to us. And the restaurant was NOT packed. So waited on that. And the wait time also came around again when waiting for the food. Thankfully my daughters were super patient and well behaved, but the food took way too long!! It was a shame for these two setbacks because the food was good, and the staff always friendly! Oh well.

Horrible service, ignored by waitress and manager. Refused in date coupon for shake, because they ran out and wouldn't substitute. Tried to speak to manager but was ignored. Called corporate and they said manager would call me in two days, never called. Rude horrible experience, and I had been here several times, prior. Previous visits were uneven.

Steak 'N Shake is Open 24 hours and the best milkshakes, however, no matter which location I visit, the tables are sticky and service is slow and lacking. They are also not accommodating with special orders, such replacing a burger patty with a chicken patty even when I offer to pay an "up charge." Furthermore, the servers don't seem happy.ever. The only reason I would return is if other food locations are closed or further in distance.

What else can I say...Steak 'N Shake, great for a steak burger! I went through the drive thru. I ordered off their $4 menu. Bacon Cheese Burger and fries. My burger was cooked to order and the fries were hot. Which was great because they have thin fries and those can get cold quick. No screw ups on my order which I am always afraid of since mustard and pickles are my kryptonite! Service was friendly and quick! Next time....shake time!!

They have a variety of inexpensive burgers. The waiter was very friendly and nice. It is good food for late nights after the club. The steaks burgers are awesome and so are the shakes. A great place to bring lots of friends and have a good time eating and enjoying decent food

The run-thru of deliciously unhealthy Southern restaurants continues with Steak 'n Shake. Ordered the Butterfinger Shake (very good) and a sandwich I can't recall because I devoured it immediately half-starved at 2:30am. Didn't finish the fries as they were a little stringy for my taste. I do remember the service being top notch and the plethora of (good) menu options. And look at that - they're actually open on Sundays (take that Chik-Fil A!)

We don't eat here but , on occasion, will crave their milkshakes and do the drive thru. On our most recent experience, we pulled up and the person on the other end told us to order when ready. So after a minute we placed our order. Nothing. Complete silence. We waited a few minutes then I said "Hello?" Then a guy comes on . Awkward. But he took our order anyways. Pulled up to the window. The girl wasn't exactly friendly . We waited a few minutes until she acknowledged us , then paid and had to wait a few minutes for the milkshakes. I ordered the mint cookies and cream and my husband had the peanut butter. Really good and hit the late afternoon craving. You will also need a spoon to eat up the yummy cookies blended in the milkshake. Just fantastic! They also do a Half off milkshake happy hour during late afternoon and late night but , of course, those are the time frames when I wouldn't find myself anywhere nearby. They do have coupons in the newspaper circulars so that's another way to save a few bucks. Service can be hit or miss but that hasn't stopped us from getting our milkshake fix!

Considering we showed up with a party of 25 on a weekday night at 2am, they held together fantastically. I had one of their hot dogs for the first time though, and I do not recommend them. The buns are very low quality.

Went there last night to enjoy an after partying night and it was a very clean S&S. Our server was super friendly and even replenished my whipped cream atop my delish shake after I jokingly asked him to. Super awesome!

I stopped in here last night for a Key Lime Pie milkshake. Good stuff! I only knew about the milkshake because it was advertised on one of those fliers that shows up in the mail. Very good, and just what I was expecting. I don't know that there's anything special about this location, but it's okay with me. The woman who took my order was pretty nice. If you like Key Lime Pie and milkshakes (that should be just about all of you), stop in here or at any other location and get one! Supposedly they're available only for a limited time, so hurry!

From the ridiculous to the sublime: All we wanted was a quick burger before an 8pm movie up the street. After wasting 15 minutes being ignored by the staff of The Eden Bar at the Enzian (read my review over there for the whole story) we walked out and headed here. Thankfully so. "We'll be right with you" said the manager as we walked into a full Saturday night restaurant. Then a server named Agate waved us over to a booth. I asked her if they were running at all behind because we had a movie to catch but she assured us that she would take care of us. And she was true to her word. Boom, she grabbed us our drinks. Then just as quickly she took our orders and got them in. We watched as she and the other servers hustled about the dining room helping customers (imagine that) and then she stuck her head into the kitchen to remind the cook to put a hustle on our order. Seriously she not only waited on us but she listened to us and then cared enough to follow through to see our needs were met! What a concept! Before we were finished eating our bill was on the table along with some to-go cups "just in case we wanted to take our drinks with us". As we finished our last bites, she grabbed up our CC and got us cashed out. "Enjoy your movie" she said as she handed Marty back his credit card. Are Steak & Shake burgers Wagu beef? No. But are they everything you want a burger to be ... juicy, flavorful and satisfying? You bet! In fact they're not just good - they're really good. But what impresses me the most is the service. This is not the first time we have had exceptional service at a Steak n Shake. Check out my review of the Apopka location and you'll see what I mean. I can forgive a lot of kitchen mishaps if the service and the way situations are handled is stellar, but if the service stinks, I don't care how great your food is, I'm still left with a bad taste in my mouth. If Eden Bar was the Goofus of dining experiences for us this week - Steak n Shake and our server Agate were definitely Gallant. (Yes, that's a Highlights reference just deal with it!) BTW, thanks to Agate we still made it to our movie with 15 minutes to spare and she got a 100% tip in appreciation because as unwilling as we are to tolerate bad service - we are more than willing to reward those who go the extra mile. Thanks Agate ... you rock!

Some nights you have to wonder why the place is open. Ordered then the waitress came back and said they were out of baked beans. No problem. Give me Cole slaw. Out of that, too. Ended up with heavily Pre-breaded onion rings. Won't make that mistake again. Place is not slammed. Some tables that were dirty when we came in 40 minutes ago still not cleared. New customers walking in and wondering around looking for a clean table as waitresses finally cleared one table for them. The manager? Working in the kitchen. Meal (as it was) was ok...which is the best thing I can about this visit.

Late night craving and got the rudest manager. Made me feel horrible for asking a question and just downright bad attitude.

2.5 stars in the fast food scale as I used the drive thru. Ordered the Chicago style dog and fries. Order was accurate but food was cold and I pulled right over in the parking lot to eat it. Was here the middle of the afternoon and line was around bldg and was slow. Employees were pleasant and food had good taste. There is no reason really why I would not visit this location again.

well, it's Steak N Shake. It's quick, it's cheap. I avoid their bathrooms. This one is better than the one on 436, but I'm pretty sure it's newer.

I am a California girl born and raised. So I grew up eating In n' Out and Tommy Burger. I thought I wouldn't be able to find anything close to those here in Florida. But thankfully I was wrong. The $4 meals are great!

Black n' white decor. Servers and cooks wear paper hats shaped like boats. It's old-fashioned up in here! Too bad the prices aren't from the 50's. It's a diner that most folks regard as a guilty pleasure. Perhaps good hangover food, or a way to drown your sorrows over greasy food. The shakes are pretty damn good though. Burgers are okay, if not a bit too flat. Why the cook gotta smash the burger so damn flat? Fries are skinny as hell. For some ungodly reason, the phrase 'takhomasak' marches on in this place. 'Take home a sack (of food)' is the translation, and you'll see it printed on menus or plastered on the wall inside. I simply get annoyed by that spelling. It reminds me of the word 'tomahawk' or something you'd call a Native American war chief. Either way, it doesn't convince me to take anything anywhere. Bad marketing move. Steak n' Shake is also sometimes referred to as: Steak n' Wait, or Mistake n' Shake, or get more creative: Mistake n' Wait. Come up with your own! All in all, not a bad option if you're feeling uncreative and in need of some junky provisions.
